Susan Woodgate-President
Sue is President of the Associaton following election at the 2009 AGM. She continues as the key contact person for the day-to-day matters of the association.
Sue is Head of the Support Service Special Educational Needs in Derbyshire and has previously worked in BESD schools in Stockport, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire and in independent Special Schools.

Linda is from Kent.
Diana Robinson (Council)
Diana has much experience in special educational needs through her career in secondary and primary schools, support service and advisory work as class teacher, team leader, head teacher and through her work as an OfSTED inspector. She has been an AEN Adviser in Kent for 7 years, where she has recently been promoted to Senior Adviser for AEN.
Julie Sweeting Leitheiser (Membership Secretary and Treasurer)
Julie has recently retired from advisory work and is currently working on a project in Oldham
John Ubsdell (Council)
John is from Southend
John Moore (Council)
John is Joint Head of the Schools Advisory Service at Kent County Council. He has worked for Kent since 1984, during which time he has held senior posts in inspection, advice and multi-agency commissioning. His teaching and management experience is in primary and secondary schools, both special and mainstream. He was Senior lecturer in SEN at Oxford Brookes University from 1979 to 1984.
He is chair of the NASEN Policy Committee and a member of the steering group responsible for the Policy Option Forums and publications produced by NASEN. He was for some years a member of the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Special Education and Support for Learning. He has pubished widely in the field of SEN and is the co-editor of a new book Support Services and Mainstream Schools.
Niki Elliot (Council)
Niki Elliot is Principal Lecturer and programme leader for professional development in the Division of Education and Humanities at Sheffield Hallam University. Niki works closely with Children and Young People’s Services developing accredited professional development and integrated working. She represents NAAOSEN on ASPECT’s National Council.
Geoff Lewis - Webmaster
Geoff is now retired and doing some consultancy work following a career
that included the teaching of science in mainstream schools and senior leadership
team membershipin day and residential special schools. After
some time as an acting headteacher, he became an advisory team member in
Sheffield and has worked as an Ofsted Team inspector and across many fields
of school improvement in mainstream and special schools there and as Adviser for SEN in Doncaster.
